Freshfields advises DTCP on investment in defence tech company Six Robotics

Jul 13 2026

Global law firm Freshfields has advised DTCP DEFENCE, the €500m defence and resilience technology fund managed by Digital Transformation Capital Partners (DTCP) on its lead investment in the seed financing round for Six Robotics, a Norwegian defence technology company developing autonomous coordination software for unmanned systems. The financing is intended to support continued product development, deployment capacity and international commercialisation across Europe and NATO-allied markets.

Founded in 2023 and based in Oslo, Six Robotics develops Valkyrie, an autonomy software designed to enable unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from different manufacturers to operate together as coordinated drone swarms. DTCP has invested alongside EIFO, Scale Capital and other private investors.

Launched in 2026 with a dedicated focus on defence, security and resilience technologies, the DTCP DEFENCE fund managed by DTCP follows a Europe-led, NATO-aligned investment strategy, with the flexibility to invest selectively in technology companies from NATO member states and close allies where such technologies are strategically relevant to European security, interoperability, and critical supply chains. DTCP is a global investment management platform with more than €4.5bn in assets under management.

The Freshfields team worked closely with the DTCP inhouse legal team led by Jan-Michael Dierkes (Managing Director and General Counsel) and Karl Hinn (Senior Legal Counsel).

The Freshfields team consisted of Partners Lars Meyer (Berlin/Frankfurt) and Laura Frühauf (Berlin) and Counsel Noël Zamani (Vienna, all Venture Capital/M&A), and also comprised Partner Uwe Salaschek, Associate Johann von Pestalozza (both Antitrust, Berlin), Partner Michael Ramb (Düsseldorf/Berlin) and Principal Associate Nicolas Sölter (Berlin, both Regulatory).
