Freshfields advises Cinven on exit from Visma

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP is advising international private equity firm Cinven on the sale of its stake in Visma, to HgCapital and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. The transaction represents Cinven’s final realisation of Visma, following its partial realisation to an HgCapital-led consortium in June 2017.

Visma is a leading provider of business-critical software, including accounting, tax and payroll applications, to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), retailers and local authorities across the Nordic, Benelux and Baltic regions.

The transaction is being led by Freshfields partner Victoria Sigeti. Victoria is supported by Alastair Brown, Akash Mukerji and Angus Scott.

Victoria Sigeti, said: “We have supported Cinven since it first acquired its stake in Visma in 2014 and are delighted to assist again with this transaction. This is the second recent TMT transaction on which we have supported Cinven, following its acquisition of webhosting provider one.com at the beginning of the year.”
