About Tony Areri
An associate in our Frankfurt office, Tony specialises in cross-border finance and leasing transactions in the aviation and rail sectors. He advises a wide range of clients including airlines, lessors, debt and equity financiers and manufacturers on a variety of asset finance and related matters.
Tony has experience acting for lenders and borrowers in banking and finance transactions with a focus on syndicated debt, green finance and other cross-border finance transactions. He has also advised on non-contentious insolvency and restructuring transactions, including the options and strategies available in financially distressed situations.
He is fluent in English and Swahili.

- Advising a German investment manager on sale and lease-back transactions for 3 new Airbus A220 aircraft with Air Baltic backed by Balthazar debt financings.
- Advising a German investment manager on debt-financed sale and lease-back transactions for 4 new ATR72-600 aircraft with a major Asian airline.
- Advising Deutsche Lufthansa on a variety of aviation-related financing transactions including leases and lessor novations.
