Ryan is a Partner in the M&A and Private Capital groups. Ryan advises some of the largest and most sophisticated global private equity firms and large-cap public companies on high-profile cross-border and U.S. M&A transactions. Ryan regularly advises clients on complex mergers, take-private acquisitions, leveraged buy-outs, carve-out transactions and strategic joint ventures. Ryan also advises companies and their boards on unsolicited offers, activism defense and on corporate matters impacting strategy and crisis management.
Ryan has led some of the largest and most important private equity and M&A transactions. His representative clients include Apollo Global Management, EQT, Global Infrastructure Partners, General Atlantic, Roark, Searchlight, Oak Hill Capital, Gamut, Ara, Redwood, Qualcomm, Honeywell International, Softbank Vision Fund, ADT, Dana Incorporated, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Destination XL Group, Benchmark Capital, Carnival Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, MacAndrews & Forbes and Fortress Investment Group.
Ryan has been named a “Next Generation Lawyer” by Lawdragon 500 X and a “Rising Star” in Mergers and Acquisitions by Super Lawyers 2025.
Ryan holds a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and a Certificate in Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Ryan was the Managing Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Law.
