Paul runs Freshfields' pro bono practice. Freshfields acts for a wide range of pro bono clients, from some of the world's largest international NGOs to individual victims of human trafficking.
Paul is also a member of the firm’s Global Business and Human Rights group, with a particular focus on advising businesses on their approach to the UK's Modern Slavery Act 2015.
For many years Paul appeared as an advocate at the asylum support tribunal, and is currently vice-chair of the Asylum Support Appeals Project (ASAP). He also acts for victims of human trafficking, and is closely involved in developing the firm's third-party intervention practice.
Paul is a member of the Access to Justice Committee of the Law Society of England and Wales, and sits on the Civil Justice Council's "core web presence" task group for litigants in person.
