Invitation: Women in Arbitration and International Law

We look forward to welcoming you at our second women's breakfast. The event will be opened by Amanda Neil, Principal Associate, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

Patrizia Netal, Partner at Knoetzl, Vienna, and Alice Fremuth-Wolf, Secretary General of the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC), the Austrian Steering Committee members of the Equal Representation in Arbitration Pledge, will provide an update on the Pledge.

We are delighted to have another panel of prominent practitioners including:

  • Inka Hanefeld, Managing Partner, Hanefeld Rechtsanwälte, Hamburg;
  • Carolyn Lamm, Partner, White & Case, Washington DC; and
  • Annet van Hooft, Independent Arbitrator and Counsel, van Hooft Legal, Paris.

In addition to the panel of practitioners we are excited to introduce Erika Kleestorfer, Executive Coach of Kleestorfer Consulting, who will provide her perspective on the issues faced by the practitioners. The panel will be moderated by Niamh Leinwather, Principal Associate, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Vienna.

These distinguished women will discuss their personal experiences including challenges they have encountered. Furthermore, they will address how best to achieve gender parity in international arbitration.

Finally we are honoured to welcome Ursula Kriebaum, University of Vienna as our key note speaker.

Last year we enjoyed a lively debate and look forward to another fruitful discussion.

Do come and join us in the Christmas atmosphere of the 25hours Hotel in beautiful Vienna!
