Freshfields continues strategic growth with private capital partner appointment

Global law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) today announced that Jon Bowden, an M&A practitioner specialising in advising financial sponsors, will join the firm’s Global Transactions practice as a partner in Singapore.

Jon joins from White & Case, bringing 18 years’ experience advising financial sponsors and corporates on M&A transactions and having been based in Singapore for more than a decade. His hire to Freshfields’ Singapore financial sponsor / M&A team demonstrates the firm's ambition to expand its coverage across markets and sectors and increase its versatility, reinforcing Freshfields’ strength in the region.

Freshfields’ Head of Southeast Asia M&A in Singapore, Nigel Gleeson, said: “Jon Bowden will enhance the existing strength of our M&A bench in Southeast Asia and support the firm’s commitment to dedicate more resources across the region’s high growth markets. As the gateway to Southeast Asia, Singapore is seeing significant growth opportunities around transactional work for our financial sponsor and corporate clients, and we look forward to supporting them wherever they need us.”

Freshfields Head of Global Transactions Julian Pritchard said: “Jon is a welcome addition to our financial sponsors practice in Asia and our Global Transactions team. We have a top-tier financial sponsor and M&A practice in Asia, and Jon will add to this bench strength. Our firm is well-placed in Singapore to advise on complex work for multinationals and financial investors. Jon’s hiring demonstrates our ambition to continue to expand our coverage across markets and sectors, building great teams to help our clients achieve their commercial goals.”

Jon Bowden joins an expanding Global Transactions practice in Asia. His hire follows that of Hong Kong-based special situations and restructuring partner Daniel Anderson earlier this month.
