Freshfields announces new promotion: María Mera, new tax counsel

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) has announced the promotion of tax specialist María Mera to counsel*.

Based in Madrid, María has 20 years of professional career at Freshfields.  She is the main point of contact for domestic and international financial institutions and banks on tax led and consultancy work, financial products, equities and derivatives markets. She also advises on a broad range of tax matters, including cross-border corporate and finance transactions, tax litigation and investigations.

María’s promotion, effective from 1 May 2022, is made alongside the promotion of 39 new counsel from across 19 offices and all practice groups at Freshfields.
