Freshfields advises PSP Investments on its acquisition of an additional stake in Angel Trains from AMP Capital

Freshfields is advising PSP Investments in relation to its acquisition of a significant additional stake in Angel Trains Limited currently held by AMP Capital.

PSP has been a shareholder in Angel Trains since 2008 and this transaction will result in PSP becoming the majority shareholder in Angel Trains. PSP’s acquisition is taking place alongside funds advised and managed by Amber Infrastructure Group, also investors since 2008, among others.

Angel Trains is the largest rolling stock company in the UK, serving the passenger rail sector with a diversified fleet of c.4,300 vehicles, the majority of which are electric multiple units.

The Freshfields team is being led by partner Richard Johnson and associate Sorcha Horrocks-Burns, and also includes partners Helen Buchanan, Richard Thexton, Peter Hall, Deirdre Trapp, Alex Carver, Nabeel Youssef and Andrew Murphy.
