Freshfields advises GIC on its acquisition of Miller alongside Cinven

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) is advising GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, on its joint partnership with Cinven and the acquisition of Miller from its partners and corporate member, Willis Towers Watson.

Miller is a leading specialist insurance and (re)insurance broker operating in the UK, Lloyd’s and internationally. Headquartered in London, it places c. £2bn worth of premiums annually and employs 640 people across the major insurance hubs globally. Closing is subject to regulatory approvals and is anticipated in the first half of 2021.

The Freshfields team was led by partner James Scott and senior legal consultant Antonio Laino. Antitrust advice was led by partner Rafique Bachour and counsel Mac Mackenzie led on regulatory advice.
