Freshfields joins Google, McKinsey and Rocket Internet to announce Digital Top50 finalists
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (‘Freshfields’) has joined forces with a host of global firms including Google, McKinsey and Rocket Internet to select the shortlist for this year’s Digital Top50 – celebrating the best of Europe’s start-ups. More than 600 early stage and digital firms applied across four categories: B2B, B2C, Social Impact and Early Stage.
The selected Top50 finalists come mainly from Central and Western Europe, spanning sectors as diverse as health and biotech, energy and environment, and CRM/enterprise. Most of the businesses focus on AI, SaaS, marketplaces and platforms; and around one-third were founded by females.
Lars Meyer, member of the jury and partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, said: “It was very challenging to select the DT50 shortlist. The diversity and distinctiveness of the applicants was highly impressive and proves that Europe's tech and start-up community is vibrant and flourishing. It's also an encouraging sign that one-third of the applicants have been founded by women.”
The winners in the four categories will be announced at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in Berlin on 12 December 2019.
