Freshfields advises Commerz Real on sale of "Eurotheum" in Frankfurt

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised Commerz Real on the sale of the high-rise building "Eurotheum", located in Frankfurt's banking district. The Purchaser is GEG German Estate Group, who is acquiring the property for its Institutional Business.

The "Eurotheum" sale is the third sale in a short space of time in Frankfurt, including, inter alia, the sale of "OMNITURM" to Commerz Real, which Freshfields was involved in.

The 110-metre tower with 31 floors and rental area of around 23,000 sqm is located in the centre of Frankfurt's banking district near the opera house "Alte Oper". Commerz Real has owned the building since 1996, holding it for its open real estate fund "hausInvest“. The former location of the European Central Bank was extensively modernised and realigned after it had moved out. Since summer 2018, "Eurotheum“ is fully let to companies, inter alia, from the finance and insurance industry and to the co-working space Mindspace.

The Freshfields Team was led by partners Friedrich Heilmann and Tim Behrens (Real Estate, Frankfurt).
