Freshfields advises B&B Hotels on the acquisition of operations of nine hotels from Covivio
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (‘Freshfields’) has advised the French budget hotel group B&B Hotels on the acquisition of the operating business of nine hotels in Germany from Covivio.Covivio is one of the largest real estate enterprises in Europe and part of the Foncière des Régions group. The hotels were previously operated as Première Classe hotels and are located in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt Offenbach, Hannover, Kassel, Cologne, Schweinfurt and Munich.
B&B Hotels, which operates over 440 Hotels in Europe, is taking over day to day management of the nine hotels from 1 November 2018. It is expanding its presence in key cities and hubs across Germany. Including these new openings, B&B Hotels' portfolio in Germany will comprise of 124 hotels by the end of 2018.
The Freshfields team comprised of partner Julia Haas, and included partners René Döring, who advised on labour law, and partner Frank Röhling on antitrust law.
