Maren specialises in German and European antitrust/competition and mergercontrol law.
Whilst based in Berlin, and throughout her secondment to the London office in 2015, Maren has worked across many industries, with particular experience in the following sectors: consumer products, e-commerce, insurance, media and healthcare.
Maren advises clients on complex transactions, high-profile cartel investigations, dominance cases, follow-on damages claims and compliance matters. Her approach is to team up with clients, to make their cause her own and to deliver not only excellent but also practical legal advice. Based on her vast experience gained in the course of merger control and conduct cases, as well as compliance work, she understands the workings and needs of businesses.
She speaks English and French alongside her native German.

- Representing Mars in two high-profile cartel cases before Germany’s Federal Cartel Office concerning the allegedly anticompetitive exchange of information and resale price maintenance, as well as advising on general competition law matters.
- Advising Cinven on the divestment of Host Europe Group to the US-based website domain name provider GoDaddy for €1.69bn.
- Advising Axel Springer in transactions (including the acquisition of the online real estate portal Immowelt and the launch of a joint venture between Immowelt and Immonet) as well as on general competition law matters.
- Advising Advent on numerous transactions at EU and German level in the healthcare sector.
