About Florian Nicolas Schröder

Florian Nicolas is an associate of our Global Transactions group, with a specific focus on the real estate sector.

He advises domestic and international investors, real estate developers, financial institutions and public-sector clients on all aspects of real estate transactions, project development and real estate finance.

Prior to joining the firm, he was as a judge at the Regional Court of Mannheim and worked in other international law firms, predominantly in the Frankfurt area as well as in Washington D.C.

He speaks German, English and Spanish.

Recent work

  • Advising an international ad hoc group of lenders to the battery manufacturer, VARTA AG, in the context of German StaRUG proceedings.
  • Vonovia SE on its sale of a minority stake in (i) the Südewo portfolio for approx. EUR 1bn and (ii) the “Norddeutschland” portfolio for approx. EUR 1bn, in each case to US investor Apollo.
  • DSV A/S on EUR 4.3bn acquisition of Schenker AG from Deutsche Bahn.
  • Emerson Electric Co. on the acquisition of Flexim Flexible Industriemeßtechnik GmbH, the world's only supplier of clamp-on ultrasonic systems.
  • SFC Energy on the acquisition of hydrogen fuel cell business from Ballard Power Systems.
  • Advsing an international bank consortium on the senior debt holdco financing for the 253MW offshore wind farm ‘Gode Wind 3’ developed by Ørsted.
  • TPG on sale of EUR 1,5bn hotel portfolio.
  • ADF Asset Management on the sale of H&M logistics centre in Hamburg to a Canadian investor.
  • Cinven on the acquisition and carve-out of MBCC Admixtures, a leading global manufacturer of concrete admixtures and sustainable solutions for the construction industry.

Qualifications

Florian Nicolas studied Law and Business Administration in Mannheim and Madrid. He holds a degree in Law and Business Administration from the University of Mannheim.

He is a member of the Hamburg Bar Association and the German-Brazilian Lawyers' Association.
