About Fran Rodriguez
Fran is an associate in Freshfields’ dispute resolution practice and is based in New York. She represents clients in complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts involving bankruptcy, business torts, contract, ERISA, intellectual property, and securities claims.
Fran maintains an active pro bono practice. She previously spent six months on secondment with Pregnancy Justice. In addition to her reproductive justice practice, Fran has experience representing asylum seekers and indigent individuals seeking to vindicate their civil rights.
Recent work
- Argued in front of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and successfully secured partial reversal of District Court’s dismissal order for a pro bono client in federal anti-discrimination and obstetric violence lawsuit filed in the Northern District of New York.
- Cerberus Capital Management in a shareholder challenge to an acquisition of a reinsurance business by a Cerberus affiliate alleging damages in excess of $160 million.
- Portfolio Advisors in a class action arising from the private equity and alternative investment recommendations it provided to the Pennsylvania Board of the Public School Employees Retirement System.
- Kidde-Fenwal, Inc. in bankruptcy proceedings relating to KFI’s potential products liability arising from its sale of aqueous film forming foam (AFFF).
- A US-headquartered financial institution in a putative class action relating to software it licensed to an administrator of pension plans alleging violations of ERISA.
