Joel has broad experience in various areas of competition law, including in particular EU cartel investigations and merger control, for various clients including Japanese companies in the chemicals, automotive, manufacturing, consumer goods and media sectors.
Joel worked in the Freshfields Brussels office (2015-2017) and London office (2017-2018) as a competition law associate on multi-jurisdictional competition matters before moving to our Tokyo office in July 2018. Prior to joining Freshfields, he worked in the Tokyo and Brussels offices of an international law firm for 5 years, both as a competition law specialist and on corporate and commercial matters more generally.
