About Dr. Arne C. Krawinkel

Arne specialises in advising corporate clients on M&A transactions (public/private) and corporate governance matters.

Arne has been with the firm for more than ten years and has served in a leading role on several high-profile mandates and numerous (mostly cross-border) deals. In addition to his M&A work, he advises on all aspects of German stock corporation law, capital markets law as well as transaction related aspects of supply chain law. He has a particular focus on the automotive industry, but has also repeatedly served clients in the tech (software, semiconductor), logistics and financial services sector. 

In 2018/2019, Arne spent a one-year secondment in our New York office. He speaks English and his native German.

    • Porsche Automobil Holding SE on the acquisition of 25%+1 voting rights in Porsche AG, the (shareholders') agreements with Volkswagen AG as well as the IPO of Porsche AG (IFLR Europe Award 2023: Equity Deal of the Year)
    • Volkswagen AG on the public takeover of Europcar Mobility Group
    • HELLA GmbH & Co. KGaA on (i) the public takeover by Faurecia, (ii) on the sale of its wholesale business to Mekonomen and (iii) on the sale of its camera software business to Volkswagen AG
    • Continental AG on the acquisition of a stake in HERE Technologies from Audi, BMW and Daimler
    • Evergrande Group on the acquisition of Protean Holdings, a developer of in-wheel motor technology
    • ams-OSRAM AG on the sale of (i) its Digital Systems business in Eurasia to Inventronics, (ii) its Traxon Tech business to Prosperity Group and (iii) its luminaires business to Stern Stewart
    • GK Software SE on the public takeover by Fujitsu Ltd. and on its delisting
  • Financial Institutions:

    • Hamburg Commercial Bank AG (formerly HSH Nordbank) on the €10bn asset protection scheme granted by its former public owners and the sale of a €5bn NPL portfolio
    • The Republic of Cyprus on the sale of Cyprus Cooperative Bank to Hellenic Bank and the related asset protection scheme
    • Berenberg Bank on the acquisition of a US$300m shipping loan portfolio from Royal Bank of Scotland and similar transactions
  • Transport (Shipping):

    • MSC on the announced public takeover offer for HHLA (ongoing)
    • Maersk A/S on the acquisition of Hamburg Süd from Dr. Oetker
    • Hamburg Süd on the sale of its dry bulk shipping operations to The China Navigation Company
    • Hapag-Lloyd AG on (i) the acquisition of the SAAM terminal business, (ii) the merger with UASC and (iii) the business combination with CSAV
