About Jennifer King

Jen is an associate in the New York office where she is a member of the firm’s global sanctions, export controls, and trade practice. Jen advises clients on regulatory compliance and enforcement issues related to sanctions, export controls, and human rights and engages with government regulators on behalf of her clients in a range of industry sectors. She has experience advising on issues related to sanctions, export controls, import and customs, human rights, AML, and ABC.

Her experience also includes representing clients in complex commercial litigation and advising clients on ESG-related compliance and disclosure risks. She also maintains an active public international law practice and is a member of the firm’s business and human rights skills group.

Recent work

  • Advising financial institutions and corporations across jurisdictions and sectors on compliance with sanctions targeting Russia, including in connection with exits, wind-downs, continued operations, and scenario planning for the future;
  • Advising multinational corporations, financial institutions, and investment firms around the world on compliance with sanctions, export controls, anti-bribery and anti-money laundering rules in connection with acquisitions and investments, including developing compliance programs and obtaining authorizations from government regulators;
  • Advising multinational corporations and financial services firms concerning ESG-related regulation and litigation risk, including with regard to climate change, the anti-ESG movement, and human rights in the supply chain;
  • Representing a multinational corporation in complex climate change-related litigation; and
  • Supporting human rights defenders in submissions to UN bodies and war crimes prosecutors in investigating alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity.
