About Dr. Vera Ibes

Vera advises clients on all legal matters relating to new technologies, data and telecommunication.

Vera is an experienced member of our data and technology practice with a particular focus on strategic advice in technology- and data-driven projects, helping clients to manage their data and IT governance and deal with contentious regulatory matters. She is also at the forefront in relation to new and emerging laws that have an impact on digital businesses, such as the AI Act, Digital Markets Act and Data Act.

Having supported industrial as well as top tier tech companies on numerous complex international and national data and cyber compliance matters, Vera knows where the risks are and translates this into pragmatic solutions. She has vast experience in representing companies in proceedings before regulators and courts, including advising on some of the highest profile data and cyber breach cases, as well as on data-related (mass) litigation.

In addition, Vera regularly advises telecoms clients, particularly regarding next-generation access and innovative business models. She was also seconded to the Irish headquarter of a leading provider of social networks with a particular focus on the data governance of its messaging services. During an additional secondment to our London office she has been working at the intersection between data and antitrust law.

Due to her telecoms background and antitrust experience, she is an expert for providing holistic advice.  Furthermore, her second degree in science and deep understanding of technical aspects enable her to efficiently communicate with stakeholders beyond the legal department in order to directly mitigate risks or successfully design and roll out new digital products.

She speaks German and English.
