Thijs is a finance partner and a civil law notary (notaris), and was, for over six years, part of the corporate practice group.
He is a down-to-earth Dutch lawyer who brings state-of-the-art, international experience from the London City market to the Netherlands – and he thrives on complex cross-border finance and corporate matters.
His practice focuses on banking (leveraged finance and real estate finance), restructuring and insolvency, and complex combined finance/corporate (structural) reorganisations and matters.
Thijs also works with the Amsterdam tax partners on (international) tax structured deals for large (international) financial institutions.
He can draw on his extensive background in corporate law (M&A, joint ventures, complex international and multijurisdictional reorganisations and restructurings, and venture capital/private equity) to find successful solutions to his clients’ combined finance/corporate matters.
In 2003, Thijs spent a year working in our Paris office.
He speaks Dutch, English and French.
