Jamie is a Senior Associate in our Global Projects Disputes Practice.
Jamie specialises in resolving disputes in the construction, infrastructure, engineering and energy sectors. He has advised clients in relation to a broad range of disputes on projects in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific. These projects have included liquefied natural gas plants, nuclear power stations, chemical manufacturing facilities, fertiliser production facilities, mines, oil and gas plants, metro systems, bridges, energy-from-waste facilities, offshore oil rigs, subsea interconnectors and offshore artificial islands.
Jamie has experience with all major forms of international construction contracts, including FIDIC, NEC, IChemE and JCT, as well as bespoke contracts. He is also experienced in advising clients on transactional matters, including drafting and negotiating construction contracts and related agreements.
Jamie has worked on international arbitrations under the rules of the ICC, LCIA, DIFC, DIAC and UNCITRAL. In addition to counsel work, he also sits as administrative secretary to arbitral tribunals. He also has experience with resolving disputes through litigation before the courts in England and Wales, mediation, dispute boards, adjudications and expert determinations. Jamie also assists clients with dispute avoidance throughout the construction phase of projects.
Jamie is admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Prior to joining Freshfields, he practised at a top tier international firm in London and Australia.

- *Advised a global EPC contractor in relation to ICC arbitration proceedings seated in Singapore concerning the construction of a combined cycle power plant for an LNG facility in Australia. Western Australian law applied.
- *Advised a Spanish EPC contractor in relation to UNCITRAL arbitration proceedings seated in Singapore concerning an iron ore mining facility in Australia. Western Australian law applied.
- *Advised an Italian EPC contractor in relation to LCIA arbitration proceedings against a state-owned entity concerning the design, engineering and construction of an early production facility in Kuwait. Kuwaiti law applied.
- *Advised a Jordanian contractor in relation to LCIA arbitration proceedings against an international EPC contractor concerning the construction of an oil production facility in Iraq. English law applied.
- *Advised a German EPC contractor concerning various disputes with different parties relating to the design and construction of a combined heat and power biomass facility in Scotland. English law applied.
- *Advised an international contractor in relation to LCIA arbitration proceedings against a residential developer concerning disputes arising from a major multi-purpose development in St Petersburg, Russia. English law applied.
- *Advised an international chemical manufacturer in relation to UK High Court (TCC) proceedings concerning the construction of a chemical manufacturing facility in the UK.
- *Advised an assisted-living and elderly care centre developer in relation to its successful UK High Court (TCC) claims against a contractor concerning a final account dispute (Anchor2020 Ltd v Midas Construction Ltd [2019] EWHC 435).
