Having first studied abroad and then at Harvard, I arrived here with an LL.M rather than a JD degree. However, thanks to the superb training I received, this presented no issues.

While I had a lot to learn, I never felt overwhelmed because our partners are very approachable and willing to trust you with challenging work from day one.

That sense of cooperation is noticeable here. People are very helpful and accommodating, and there is a strong sense of loyalty to the firm. There’s also a shared feeling of common purpose – so everybody wants everybody else to do the best they possibly can.

We have people from all over the world here; working full-time, over on secondment, or in town for a meeting. This has certainly helped me to fit in. Not only are Freshfields' people great lawyers, but they are also interesting and diverse with unique backgrounds and experience.
