Judicial clerks
When it matters most.
Freshfields is the perfect place to build on your clerkship experience. Our US litigation team includes 15 partners, 2 counsel and more than 50 associates representing global clients in arbitration, complex commercial litigation, white collar defense and antitrust litigation matters, many with international scope. The group includes sixteen former clerks from the Second, Ninth and D.C. Circuits, the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the International Court of Justice.
Our US litigation group offers a unique opportunity for lawyers in their first few years of practice. With more than 2,500 lawyers in 27 offices worldwide, Freshfields handles cutting-edge legal issues in every major jurisdiction. This gives Freshfields' US practice a global depth that few, if any, US firms can match; our US associates routinely work on cross-border matters with colleagues throughout our international network. In a globalizing market, this international exposure provides Freshfields associates with an incomparable learning opportunity and access to the most interesting and complicated legal challenges facing companies and individuals today.
We have a thriving domestic litigation practice as well. Our litigation team represents public companies, financial institutions, foreign governments and corporate executives and directors in grand jury and regulatory enforcement investigations, arbitrations and complex commercial, securities and white collar litigation. Our lawyers work in small teams, which both enables our associates to take significant responsibility on their matters and provides them with the opportunity to work closely with more experienced attorneys. Our associates also have opportunities to experience temporary secondments in Freshfields offices in other parts of the world, or with one of our major clients, where they can work for a few months on the client side.
