Profile Picture

Raquel Flórez

Raquel is a partner in our Madrid office and is head of the employment, pensions and benefits practice in Spain as well as co-head of our Latin America group.

Employment, pensions and benefits

Raquel and her team are business-oriented, commercial lawyers. They advise on all employment-related and pensions issues, and are passionate about guiding their clients through the complexities of Spanish employment law.

With a style built on close collaboration and teamwork, Raquel listens carefully to her clients’ aspirations and then seeks viable, commercial solutions to help them achieve their goals.

Her clients, mainly listed and non-listed US and EU clients and financial institutions, appreciate this informal, friendly approach. Her opinions are concisely articulated and clearly laid out. This thoughtful attitude, and the fact that Raquel handles both advisory and contentious work, has won her and her team much respect and admiration in this field.

She has experience on outsourcing projects and business transfers, and has also been involved in setting up and implementing long-term incentive schemes and pension arrangements for senior executives and directors. She has dealt with employment issues arising from reorganisations, and recently advised on several collective redundancies. Her litigation experience includes defending financial institutions against claims for payment of bonuses and incentives.

‘Raquel established the firm’s employment department and is one of its leading figures. She stands out for her knowledge and is "responsive, pragmatic, a good team player and a pleasure to work with," according to sources.’
