James Grand is a partner based in London specialising in derivatives and structured credit. His practice focuses on developing capital relief products under CRD IV, margin lending, CLOs and innovative collateralisation techniques for derivatives and sovereign exposures. He advises extensively on EU insolvency law applicable to banks and investment firms. From 2008 to 2013 James was a member of the Financial Markets Law Committee advising on issues of legal uncertainty facing the financial markets under the sponsorship of the Bank of England. James is co-head of Freshfields’ Eurocrisis group and a member of the Lawyers Group of British Influence, an organisation opposed to Brexit.
