Our banking lawyers across our global network provide transactional and advisory services on the whole range of banking products including syndicated and bilateral lending, leveraged finance, acquisition finance, real estate finance, private placements, recapitalisations and corporate restructurings and workouts.

A global loans practice

Our diverse global expertise and experience allows us to advise a wide range of bank, corporate and sponsor clients on domestic and international transactions across the credit spectrum and gives us a significant presence in the investment grade, crossover, leveraged, acquisition and real estate finance markets.

Our investment grade/crossover expertise

We advise on high profile investment grade and crossover loans, acting for lenders and borrowers, with a particular emphasis on international and M&A event driven financings. Our clients comprise many of the worlds' leading financial institutions as lenders as well as multinationals and other corporate borrowers. In addition to core loan products, we have expertise in trade finance, receivables and other asset based lending, and in swaps, cash pooling and other treasury products.

At the forefront of leveraged finance

Our banking lawyers have acted for sponsors and lenders on leveraged financings for many years and have been integrally involved in the development of the global leveraged finance market.

As well as advising on senior, mezzanine and second lien financings, our expertise extends to less traditional products, such as hybrid ("PIK"/"Toggle") facilities, securitisation and high yield bridges and "opco-propco" structures.

We act for many of the world's leading private equity , sovereign and infrastructure funds; and have considerable experience of consortium transactions, including transactions involving combinations of financial and trade buyers.

Integrated real estate finance group

We advise on the full range of debt and equity products in the real estate financing sector across our network of offices.

We have considerable experience acting for arrangers and underwriters on real estate loan originations and syndications. We advise on CMBS conduits as well as significant standalone CMBS transactions.

Together with our funds specialists and international tax group we often advise sponsor clients on the structuring aspects of transactions.

Corporate restructurings and workouts

Our banking lawyers have considerable experience in corporate restructurings and workouts and work closely alongside our market leading restructuring and insolvency practice.

We have won numerous industry recognised awards reflecting our expertise in this field. For example, we were delighted to be awarded recently with "Banking & Restructuring Team of the Year" at The Legal Business Awards 2008.
