Some recent examples of our telecommunications, media and technology arbitration work include acting for:

• MTN in an ICSID arbitration against the Republic of Yemen, under the UAE-Yemen bilateral investment treaty and Yemen’s Investment Law; and Sabafon in a parallel UNCITRAL arbitration against Yemen pursuant to its Investment Law;
• France Telecom in a US$2.9bn arbitration against Lebanon concerning a dispute over a mobile telephone network under the UNCITRAL rules pursuant to the France/Lebanon bilateral investment treaty;
• a US satellite manufacturer in an ICC arbitration involving claims brought in relation to the design, manufacture and supply of one of the largest telecommunications satellites in the world;
• WPP, the leading international advertising and media group, in an ICC arbitration in Milan in a dispute relating to its Italian media management business; and
• a Russian investor in an arbitration under the SCC Rules in Stockholm and on related multi-jurisdiction litigation in a $2.5bn dispute over a shareholding in Russia’s third-largest mobile phone operator.
