Some recent examples of our energy arbitration work include acting for:
- an oil super-major in a series of Geneva UNCITRAL rules arbitrations in a $2bn dispute arising under a production-sharing contract with Algerian state oil company, Sonatrach;
- the Republic of Turkey in three ICSID arbitrations under the Energy Charter Treaty involving a total amount of approximately $10bn;
- one of the world's largest international oil companies in a contractual dispute with the Russian Federation in relation to contributions required to be made under the parties' PSA to the state's fiscal budget. The $1bn dispute is subject to arbitration under the UNCITRAL Rules with its seat in Stockholm;
- a Saudi petrochemical company in French-language proceedings against a European contractor in connection with the construction of operational facilities in Saudi Arabia; and
- Repsol in an ICSID arbitration against the Republic of Ecuador and Petroecuador in connection with measures taken by the Ecuadorean government affecting the exploration and production of hydrocarbons.
