Some recent examples of our arbitration work in Asia include acting for:

• Danone in an arbitration in Stockholm under the SCC Rules in a €1bn dispute with Danone’s joint venture partners in China;
• two Japanese companies in a JCAA arbitration concerning the breach of an exclusive licence agreement by a US medical devices company;
• ZTE Corporation in Hong Kong arbitration proceedings under the UNCITRAL Rules in claims arising from a joint venture agreement, which also resulted in a landmark Hong Kong court judgment relating to a challenge made on the presiding arbitrator;
• Chinese investors on a politicised dispute with an Asian state over investments made in the natural resources sector, including advice on treaty arbitration; and
• a South East Asia state in relation to arbitration proceedings in Singapore for an alleged breach of a contract to acquire, process, market and licence seismic data in its off shore waters.
