Juliane Hilf has been a partner since 2004 and works in our Cologne office. She is a member of our environment, planning and regulatory (EPR) practice group and specailises in German and European environmental and technology law as well as regulatory law, all including project development, privatisations as well as transactional work.
Juliane was born in 1968. She completed her legal education at the universities of Geneva and Heidelberg from which she holds the degree of doctor of laws (Dr iur utr). Her dissertation covered an aspect of European law. Before joining Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, she worked as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public and International Law in Heidelberg. She has published and lectured widely on environmental law focusing on European law. She is an author of a standard commentary on the EC treaty.
Juliane joined the firm in 1997. She speaks German, English and French.
