Avocat à la Cour and member of the New York Bar, Antoine Colonna d’Istria joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer's Tax group in 2000 and has been the managing partner of the Paris office since May 2007.

Recognized in both Legal 500 and Chambers Guide as a leading practitioner in tax law, Antoine has extensive expertise in corporate, finance and property tax. He represents a wide range of domestic and international clients, with a particular focus on multinational companies, banking clients and investment funds.

Some of Antoine's recent experience includes:

  • advising Goldman Sachs PIA on its joint offer with KKR to acquire Pages Jaunes from France Telecom;
  • advising Unibail and Whitehall on the disposal of Cœur Défense; and
  • advising DB RREEF on the acquisition of a portfolio of residential units leased to EDF.

Antoine is a member of the International Fiscal Association and the Institute of Tax Lawyers and Counsels (Institut des Avocats et Conseils Fiscaux). Prior to joining Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, he was a partner at Gide Loyrette Nouel. Antoine also spent three years in New York as a US tax lawyer.

Antoine graduated from New York University with an LL.M in Tax Law. He received a Maîtrise in Business Law from the Université Paris II and a DESS in Tax Law from Université Paris X.

A native French speaker, Antoine is also fluent in English.
