Tim Jones is a corporate partner who specialises in equity capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, privatisations, and other corporate work. Between 1994 and 2000 he was based in Madrid. Tim's leadership positions in the firm have included acting as managing partner of the London corporate department and chair of the London Management Group. He was also formerly co-head of the Capital Markets Group.
He advised London 2012 on the joint venture agreement to establish the London Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) and is now lead partner responsible for our role as the official legal services provider to LOCOG. In that role he oversees all aspects of our involvement with London 2012.
While in Madrid, he worked on high-profile public and private cross-border M&A transactions, including the privatisations of Aldeasa, Aceralia, Tabacalera, Indra and Red Eléctrica. He also acted on private sector IPOs in Spain, including Amadeus, Sogecable, Páginas Amarillas, Colonial and Azkar.
Tim chairs the London Steering Group of Business Action on Homelessness, and in 2010 he was appointed HRH the Prince of Wales’s Ambassador for London.
He is country partner for Greece and has worked on privatisations and other deals there. He speaks English, French and Spanish and was educated at Wadham College, Oxford. Born in 1957, he has been at the firm since 1981 and a partner since 1990.
