Claus Staringer has been a principal consultant of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer since 2001 and works in the Vienna office. He is a member of our ITG – international tax practice group and specialises in corporate tax planning, M&A transactions, structured finance, estate planning, and tax litigation. He advises industrial enterprises, banks and insurance companies, international investment banks and private equity funds.

Claus was born in Vienna in 1967. He received his legal education at the University of Vienna and at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, where he is also a professor of tax law. He is the author of a number of articles and publications. In 1997 he was admitted as tax adviser (Steuerberater).

Claus joined the firm in 1999 and speaks German and English.
