Freshfields advises Areva on acquisition of Multibrid
International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised French energy technology provider Areva SA on its acquisition of Bremerhaven-based wind turbine manufacturer Multibrid GmbH.In addition to 51 percent of Multibrid acquired three years ago, which Freshfields also advised on, Areva subsidiary Areva Renouvelables SAS has now taken over the remaining 49 percent of shares in Multibrid which will become Areva Wind.
With the acquisitions of Multibrid and PN Rotor, the German rotor blade manufacturer for offshore wind turbines, Areva has strengthened its production capacity to address the growth expected in the wind energy industry.
The Freshfields team was led by Munich corporate partner Ferdinand Fromholzer with support from corporate associate Christiane Fabel.
