Freshfields advises Mitsui & Co. on joint venture for emerging markets infrastructure fund
International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised Mitsui & Co. Ltd. on a joint venture with Challenger Financial Services Group to establish a Singaporean based investment management business with a focus on infrastructure investment opportunities in emerging markets. As a first initiative, the joint venture intends to establish and sponsor the Challenger Mitsui Emerging Markets Infrastructure Fund with a target size of USD$1.2bn.
Corporate partners Edward Cole from the firm's Tokyo office and Karen Fountain from the London office led the Freshfields team.
