Our Vienna office has over 70 lawyers and serves as an ideal bridge to central and eastern Europe (CEE), particularly the countries that have newly acceded to the EU.

Offering high-end expertise in corporate law, we advise a wide range of national and international companies and investment banks. M&A and private equity transactions and privatisations form a major part of our activities. We specialise in banking and capital markets work, with a special focus on securitisation, structured finance, banking regulation and insolvency law, as well as asset and project finance.

Our lawyers advise in the fields of competition, procurement and state aid, including EU law, intellectual property/information technology, real estate, tax and labour law. A specialised group of around 14 partners and associates handles complex dispute resolution matters, including commercial litigation before national courts; we have a particular reputation for representing clients or acting as arbitrators in international arbitration matters before institutions such as the International Court of Arbitration, Wirtschaftskammer Osterreich (Austrian chamber of commerce) and Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, as well as in ad hoc arbitrations. We have gained a strong reputation for our industry know-how in the energy and telecoms sectors and have special skill groups for public private partnership and outsourcing projects including lawyers from across different practices.

Our lawyers come from various countries and are admitted in other European countries and in the US; we can offer advice in German, English, French and Russian languages.

We have been active in the CEE region for over 25 years and our involvement there continues to grow. Several of our lawyers are CEE specialists who share an understanding of CEE business, legal systems and culture. Our specialists have built up strong long-term relationships with local law firms throughout the region. We are the only Austrian law firm with a full-service Russian practice and a heavyweight Moscow office.
