Christopher Bown is co-head of our international private equity group and is based in London. He has been acting for venture capital and private equity investors and management teams on equity investments, buyouts (public and private), refinancings and exits since 1985. He combines this with public and private M&A transactional experience for a number of corporate clients. Much of his work has been cross-border in nature. His relevant experience includes advising:

- Apax on the acquisition of Travelex and a number of other potential investments;
- Clayton, Dubilier & Rice on a number of potential investments;
- CVC on the acquisition of Formula 1;
- Dubai International Capital on its acquisitions of Doncasters Group and Travelodge;
- Fox Paine on the purchase from Syngenta of the Advanta seeds business;
- Lehman Brothers on the take private of Burford Group;
- the management team on Baroness Retail’s successful contested consortium bid for Debenhams;
- Terra Firma Capital Partners on a number of potential investments;
- the Valentia consortium on the take private of Eircom and
- Warburg Pincus on the equity funding of its purchase of Clondalkin from Candover.
