Nikolaus Schrader is a partner in the firm's Hamburg office. He specialises in M&A transactions and private equity work. Nikolaus is the co-head of our firmwide Leisure Sector Group.

Nikolaus has worked on a broad range of M&A transactions, both domestic and cross border. In addition to leisure he has extensive experience in the TMT, and retail sectors. Amongst others, Nikolaus has advised Deutsche Bank, telecommunications company Arcor, brewing company Holsten and a number of companies from the leisure sector, including cruise operator Peter Deilmann Reederei, in various M&A transactions.

Nikolaus was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1964. He studied at the Universities of Freiburg and Hamburg where he also earned the degree of Doctor of Laws (Dr. iur.). From 1992 to 1994 Nikolaus was a research and teaching assistant for corporate and business law at the University of Hamburg (Professor Dr Karsten Schmidt). In 1995 he worked as a foreign associate with law firm Wietek Mohr & Partner in Paris. In 1998 Nikolaus spent a year in London working with various M&A industry advisory groups in the Investment Banking Division of Deutsche Bank. Nikolaus, who joined the firm in 1995, is the author of several publications in the area of M&A and corporate law. He speaks German, English, French, and Danish.
