The debate about the role of business in society is only heating up. The expectations of businesses are reflected in corporate reporting requirements which are becoming ever more robust. Our stakeholders, and society in general, want us to help advance a broader social agenda and not just focus on our own results. The challenge is how, in practice, to ensure that businesses deliver on these expectations and to encourage them to go beyond the minimum level of compliance.
Our strategy maximizes the value corporate responsibility can bring to our business. We focus our efforts on where we can make the greatest difference:
- using our professional skills towards the most impactful pro bono matters internationally and in the communities where we do business;
- creating a positive impact on the communities in which we operate;
- being an excellent employer, promoting inclusiveness and diversity; and
- minimizing our impact on the environment.
For us, corporate responsibility is not an isolated program: we incorporate responsible business practices into our culture. We have been a proud participant of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) since 2009. As a participant in this strategic policy initiative, we are required to report on how we have advanced the 10 principles with respect to human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption within our sphere of influence. We invite you to read our Responsible Business Report, which also serves as our annual communication on progress.
