Our defence sector group comprises partners in key
jurisdictions and markets around the world who combine detailed knowledge of
the sector with deep technical skills. We act for many leading defence
companies, helping them manage and resolve the legal and commercial issues that
arise in a wide range of transactional, regulatory, investigation and
litigation work.
Our work is complex and international, often
involving sensitive technology. Much of our know-how stems from advising
clients on PFI/PPP and associated outsourcing initiatives, M&A, offset
arrangements, on the protection and commercial exploitation of technology and
compliance with applicable procurement procedures, including the EU Defence
Procurement Directive.
We often work with government bodies and regulators
and also support defence majors’ development into new markets, addressing
regulatory and commercial risks. More and more, we’re involved in advising on
the formation of alliances, consortia and subcontract arrangements as key
players in the industry continue to share technology and spread investment cost
and risk.
