We’ve been in Japan for more than 20 years. Our office in Tokyo opened in 1988 and our first Japanese lawyers joined us ten years later.

Today we have one of the most integrated and effective law teams in Tokyo and advise a large range of local and global clients.

Our Tokyo office is a fascinating place to work. Whether you join as a lawyer, a graduate or a business services professional, you’ll be joining the team that works on some of the biggest, most high profile deals around.

Our global finance practice is known for its skill in the complex and structured fields of finance.

More than 300 lawyers worldwide take on high-profile and challenging work with a particular emphasis on structured products; securitisation; derivatives; banking; restructuring and insolvency; asset finance; project finance; and financial services.

Our lawyers work closely across our offices and with groups such as tax, property and financial services.

Our people

More than 30 lawyers work in our Tokyo office. Two thirds are bengoshi – lawyers admitted in Japan – who bring in-depth local knowledge to our team.
