Aviation and airports
Airlines
and airports face many challenges to maintain profitability while contending
with rising costs, intense competition and a generally restrictive regulatory
system. However, we have also seen positive developments as the passenger
airline industry begins to improve, with an increase in passenger numbers at
both the budget and premium level.
We are
strongly positioned in the industry, having advised its key players for over 40
years. We have a 360-degree view of the industry gained from advising all the
main participants, from manufacturers and financiers to aircraft lessors and
airport owners. We’re at the top table of advisers for many of the
industry airlines in Europe, the US
and the Middle East. We also act
for the leading leasing companies – both long-established, such as Aercap,
and more recent entrants, such as Avolon. We also act as counsel to the
Aviation Working Group, the leading supply side industry body.
Advising
this cross-section of clients has given us a detailed insight into the
requirements of all parties in a transaction. Our aviation group is formed of
lawyers from our antitrust/competition, corporate, capital markets, dispute
resolution, finance and regulatory practices who regularly work together to
help our clients meet their strategic objectives.
We
recently published the 4th Edition of "Aircraft Financing",
released via Euromoney, the leading aviation financing guide.
