I grew up in Costa Rica, and initially studied to be an English teacher. I moved to New York, intending to work on my English - which I did - but I happened to meet the man who is now my husband, a typically romantic Frenchman who swept me off my feet. Who could guess that a great relationship could lead to a great job!
We moved to France where, after a first experience in an American law firm, I joined Freshfields' Paris office in the marketing department. In this role, I got to deal with every practice area across the firm and built great relationships that proved to be of lasting value when I moved into my current role.
Freshfields offered me the opportunity to move within the Paris office and I now work as a legal assistant in international arbitration. You'll find me working closely with associates every day, carrying out research and helping them prepare documents for cases. I also get the opportunity to deal with clients.
The international nature of the firm means that I might be dealing with people from all over the world. As well as my native Spanish, I'm fluent in English and French, so that comes in very handy.
