Market/sector investigations

Industry-wide investigations by antitrust/competition authorities are increasingly common and often wide-ranging, lengthy and complex. They can place a significant time and cost burden on companies, so it is important that they are managed carefully and strategically.

We have assisted clients in most of the major investigations conducted at a European or national level, which means we have developed significant experience across a wide range of sectors.

We have played a key role during very extensive inquiries carried out by the European Commission, most recently in the energy, financial services and pharmaceuticals sectors.

Similarly, in the UK we have advised on many of the complex market cases before the Office of Fair Trading and the Competition Commission.

We always enjoyed a strong reputation for advising on market-wide investigations before the Monopolies and Mergers Commission, and now we continue our leading position with Competition Commission investigations under the Enterprise Act 2002.
