Community investment
Social inclusion is the theme that drives our community investment (CI) programme. We want to raise the aspirations, skills and employability of socially excluded groups and individuals.
We encourage young people from less privileged backgrounds to aim high when it comes to their academic results, further education options and career choices; and we help them to achieve their goals.
We also support other vulnerable groups, such as homeless people, to get back on their feet and into work.
We know the legal profession can be seen as elitist and out of reach. Many of our initiatives challenge the stereotypes and encourage more people to consider a career in law. We also try to show that there is more to a law firm than the lawyers; that there are many other rewarding career options for ambitious people.
We encourage everyone at the firm to contribute at least one business day of volunteering a year on a community team challenge run by the firm. Aside from the positive impact on local communities, volunteering is a great way for our people to make friends and have fun while doing something worthwhile. It is also an excellent opportunity for participants to develop their skills and experience.
In some offices we support those wishing to fundraise or donate to specific charities through our matched giving and payroll giving schemes.
