Established in 1989, our Brussels office is firmly established in the Belgian market and is one of the most international offices in the Freshfields network. Comprising around 90 lawyers drawn from some 20 different countries and focusing in a wide range of legal disciplines, we have market leading practices in a number of areas including antitrust, competition and trade, M&A (including private equity), corporate advisory, capital markets, banking and finance, and tax. Our office also regularly acts as a central hub for cross-border M&A transactions and multi-jurisdictional antitrust and regulatory investigations and litigation.

Our proactive and innovative approach, combined with our in-depth local knowledge and international reach, means that we are able to guide our clients through their most challenging and complex business issues and transactions. We also have a longstanding and successful track record of working at the forefront of legal developments across each of our practice areas.

Our Brussels-based EU regulatory and public affairs practice is an integral part of our Brussels office. Focusing on the interface between law, politics and business, the team helps clients to manage proactively all aspects of the EU regulatory environment.

Our commitment to community responsibility engages our Brussels team in a range of voluntary pro bono and environmental projects. For example, we maintain an active commitment to European Citizen Action Service (ECAS) and Business in the Community (BiTC) initiatives.
